Narnia: The Lion, The witch and the Wardrobe.

I watched Narnia , the Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, today on Channel 5. I didn't watch the whole thing, just some cuts here and there and the ending part. So maybe some stuff below may not be accurate.

Well, the movie was truly like the life of Jesus Christ, with Azlan representing Jesus. He let himself to die under the hands of The Witch, in order to save his people. That scene of him going to die really depicted the Jesus dying on the cross. They cut his fur, and shamed him, just like in the Bible where the people took off Jesus's clothes and drew lots for it, ridiculing him. Azlan died for his people, and after that he was ressurected again, like Jesus.

And also foar the ending scene, with Azlan walking alone by the seaside, Mr Chubbs was telling Lucy that Azlan would come again, anytime, which is really similar to Jesus's second coming.

Continue to Walk in Truth.

Hi guys,

Tomorrow we are starting the season of 40 day prayer and fasting.

I want to encourage you by pausing to take stock and looking through the year so far.
I am not sure if you yourself are aware, but as an overseer watching over you, I am keenly aware of this:

There are breakthroughs in your life.

Some of you are more committed to the spiritual family.
Some of you are starting to serve in TPE (Gameslab).
Some of you are rising up to the challenge of leadership and wants to be seriously mentored by me during Friday G12.
Some of you are surfacing deeper issues in your life and allowing God to deal with it.
Some of you are humbling yourself to be ministered by God and responding to altar call.
But most of all, I can see that all of you are starting to take ownership of the cell. I can release control to allow you to run some aspects of the cell while I mentor you through it. You are demonstrating unity by organizing events on your own, and inviting other cells in the cluster along.

Think back during last November/December, when I had to sound an alarm that the cell is dying because we are not united.
God has brought us a long way in this year of sabbath. It has not been possible without God.

I want to ask you not to be satisfied with what is achieved so far, but ask God for more.
I challenge you to rise up to the next level in this 40 days.

I encourage you from 3 John 1:3-4:
It gave me great joy to have some brothers come and tell about your faithfulness to the truth and how you continue to walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.

Let's continue to walk in the truth.
3 John teaches us that a demonstration of walking in the truth is being "faithful in what you are doing for the brothers".
It give a positive example of Gaius being hospitable to his brothers and bringing unity.
It also warns us not to be like Diotrephes who is self-seeking and brought division to the church.

Let's do the 40 day prayer and fasting differently.
Let's
1) Not be religious, but RELATIONAL WITH GOD
2) Not pray and fast individually, but IN COMMUNITY
3) Not give up halfway, but go ALL THE WAY

Ask God for a personal area of breakthrough.
Confess it, and believe it!

Here's the plans for next 2 months.
Can you check through your schedule to see if there's any clash?

If not, please lock it in.

PS: The saturday study group that Ps Adrian is organising for the N,O,A levels, the starting date is not confirmed yet. Will add in ASAP when I have it. When it starts, I may consider squeezing G12 and open cell to Sat.

Because of your love.

As I spent time with God today, I was filled with uncertainty, even though school starts on the 30th for me. I know that my studies is in a bad condition right now, and I only have like 100 days left before the O'levels.

This June holidays passed really fast. I wondered if I would be able to study well for my O's because 100 days is a very shot period of time to study all of the syllabus tested.

But, as a little Christian bookmark I have says, " Don't fear tommorrow. God is already there ". It always encourages me.

During the worship time I had, I sang the song "Because of your Love" by Al Gordon. The lyrics are really meaningful.

because of Your love,
there is dancing in my heart
because Your grace,
i am free

because of Your faithfulness
there's a song that must be sung
and i will sing,
i will sing because of You

Maggots.

Im going to post about a very embarassing mistake of mine now. ( I was really strung up when I wrote this )

When I came back from jogging today, I found out that my mum found that a plastic container of food was full of maggots in the microwave whilst I was out. And it was so stinky and disgusting! It was like a week old, rotting away in the microwave! And then when she asked me if I had heated up some food and forgot to take it out of the microwave, then I remembered that it was me!

And really, I felt really really sorrowful after that. And I admit that I really wanted to cry! YES I KNOW - but real men dare to cry! Its not the grossness that made me, but I was really very sad that it was my mum who had to see the traumatising thing. When I went to look back at the microwave oven, it still had a sour smell, and I could still see one maggot still crawling around. There were also some dead maggots around. I could imagine what the real thing was. It must have been beyond horrible. It was then that really my eyes became watery.

I stood there, tearing a little, then I went to hug my two times Mum to say sorry. I was feeling really sad that my mum had to look at the disgusting thing and clear it up. I wish it had been me to discover it first. Then my mum wouldn't have to suffer. After all, it was my own mistake which caused that. I really though there was nothing I could do to atone for my sins. And Mum didn't really blame me or anything, she told me nicely to learn from my mistakes. Just that. She wasn't like feeling angry or anything.

What my Mum did was just like Jesus. He died and suffered the worst thing in the whole world --- death on the cross. And it was supposed to be us on the cross! BECAUSE IT WAS OUR SINS HE DIED FOR! But he died for our sins because he loved us alot alot alot. Now I really, can understand the real feelings of Jesus dying for me. I was so unworthy, that I should be the one to suffer, yet he suffered all the pain for me, willingly.

1/3 probability that the whole population will be saved, BUT
2/3 probability all will die.

Which Programme would you choose?

(The remaining 8% chose to give up. ie. Empty forms returned.)

Outcome is 3.2 million will die

2/3 probability that all will not survive, BUT
1/3 probability that all will be saved.

What would you choose now?

Surprisingly, the survey results show now,
22% chose C and 70% chose D.

A closer examination of the 4 Programmes shows that A & C are identical, similarly for B & D.

What does it tells us?
We can either look at life as half-full or half empty.

Our perspective determines our attitude and directs the choices we make in life.

John 17:17 say "Sanctify(set them apart) them by the truth; your word is truth."
I pray that our perspective towards life will not be deceived but set apart for God.

Sorry for posting the picture so late! I couldn't really get the sunset I wanted ( like the one in the previous post ). But then, I realised that actually there's something special in every sunset, just like this one -_ the clouds are spiky-looking at the edges. Kind of cool.

You see? The edges of the big cloud on the right looks like the kind of imprint you make when you flick some paint really fast right?

I guess the clouds is different everyday, different shapes, different sizes, but what never changes is that the sun always rises and sets.

I didn't really know why I wrote that, I think God is telling me that he is our Sun, that never changes. His unfailing love endures forever.

I was feeling really blue and moody today, I don't really know why either, maybe because of a moodswing I guess.

It was also today that I realised that sunsets are really pretty. Those streaks of orange, turquoise, light blue, (plus a little violet) are really beautiful. When I looked at it, I felt really cheerful. I think that was God smiling at me.

And then I thought, if sunsets were this beautiful, then how GREAT and WONDERFUL our God who created all this is. I bet He painted all this.

I didn't get a picture of it though. Nevermind, I'll get tomorrow's sunset!

John 9.

The bible reading for today is John 9. I hope you guys are reading it too!

The verse which caught me was 39-41.

39 Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind."

40 Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, "What? Are we blind too?"

41 Jesus said, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.

At first, I couldn't really understand what it meant. I tried reading it a few more times, but to no avail. I decided to wait a day before return back to it at night during spending time with God.

I think that the blind refers to pre believers, while those who can see refers to the people who think they know God well. Jesus came to the world to give light to the pre believers. He also came to "blind" those who can see. Maybe this "blind" means to humble those who can see that they do not know that much about God after all. Jesus need's to "blind" them so that they will yearn and thirst for the light ( Jesus ) amidst the darkness even more.

This is just like the Pharisees in the verses. The Pharisees are very rich in Bible knowledge, so they think that they know God alot. Thus, they "claim they can see".

Let us not be complacent about what we are now, but yearn for God even more.

Chalet.

And yes! We had our cluster chalet at East Coast. BBQ was really fun, with us playing soccer, volleyball, getting our hands caked in black, trying to cook garlic bread properly, cooking marshmallows plus nutella hamburgers, having free dumplings and tao sar piahs, playing the guitar and singing songs, cyling, rollerblading, and even just lying on the sand at midnight (with Bryan).

We really had a great time together! Through this chalet, I became alot closer to Bryan and Gabriel. That's Interdependence!

And plus I got to bring the Nutella home!

John 4.

I read John 4 today. It talks about the Samaritan woman's meeting with Jesus.

Verses 34-37 really stood out to me.

34"My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.

35Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.

36Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together.

37Thus the saying 'One sows and another reaps' is true.

38I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor."

I pray that God will change me to be just like in verse 34, where my food will be to do the will of God and fufill His plan.

As for the following verses, I felt that God wants to tell us that when reaching out to friends, we do not procrastinate, thinking that the time is not ripe yet. The harvest is ripe and plentiful, but the workers are few.

Also, the person who plants the seedlings may not reap what he sows. Another person may reap the harvests instead. Just like when we bring friends to church, and they receive Christ, they maybe not come into our cell, but be allocated to another.

So let us bring friends to church, for Jesus is coming soon, and not think about who reaps the harvest.

God is good, all the time!

Because of your love.
