So coincidental that psalm 45 fell on Valentine's Day :D
Basically this is a wedding song. Written by the sons of Korah probably as a tribute to King David during one of his weddings (he had seven wives. Dont ask me to explain in simplistic terms why in the olden times God allowed polygamy. We can discuss this if you are interested, but in summary I can say it's due to culture, the era they give in, and politics.)
Also, this psalm is also a parallel to describe Jesus's relationship with the church as a bridegroom to His bride.
Ephesians 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.Today, on Valentine's Day,
let's come back to Jesus, the lover of our soul.Honour Him by returning to your first love you had for Him. :)
