I didnt come from a uniform group CCA when I was in secondary school, so I didnt know any drill commands until I was in NS (national service, where I was exposed to footdrill for the first time.) I remembered very vividly this scene from my BMT (basic military days), during my first few footdrill sessions. Under the hot sun, perspiring and bare-bodied, we went round and round the parade square marching with our new wives (our M16 rifles). As it was the first time I am doing drill, I was especially conscious to follow the commands accurately and not to make mistakes.

I was proud I had became a "man". I had just passed 21 a few months ago then.

10 "Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."

So often, I had used this verse that I memorised, to minister to many people in the past.
Today as I read this psalm again and ponder upon the context, and when God brought to my mind this picture of my BMT days, did I fully understood what it meant.

Be still, and know that He is God, because He is the Commander-in-chief, and He deserves the utmost respect and honour.

Just like when I was a naive young man at 21 doing my footdrill for the first time and obeying each instruction to the dot.

Would you be "man enough" to obey every commands written in the bible, to the dot?
